Bahamas Speech and Language Centre

Simone Bellot is licensed by the Bahamas Health Professions Council as a speech-language pathologist. She serves as the Clinical Director of Bahamas Speech and Language Centre, providing speech, language, feeding, and swallowing services across the lifespan. She holds a Bachelor of Science with majors in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Neuroscience from Syracuse University, Syracuse New York and a Master of Science in Speech, Language and Learning from Northwestern University, Evanston Illinois, where she is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Her clinical background spans pediatric and adult care in hospital, outpatient, and school-based settings in Chicago and Miami, including diagnostic evaluation and treatment of speech, language, voice, AAC, and feeding and swallowing disorders. Simone's research on language development in Bahamian Creole English-speaking children has been presented nationally in the United States and published in ASHA’s Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing in the United States.
